What DOT Expects From Construction Fleets (That Nobody Tells You)
One morning for construction safety directors, fleet managers and owners in metro Atlanta. Plain language, real examples, and time for your questions. Coffee and breakfast are on us.
Most construction companies don’t know DOT applies to them, until an inspector tells them
If your company runs dump trucks, service trucks or pickups pulling equipment trailers, those vehicles may be commercial motor vehicles, under the same DOT safety rules as a trucking company. The test looks at the vehicle, not the business.
And once DOT applies, it isn’t a few forms a year. Every working day, someone has to check every driver’s hours, follow up on every speeding and hard-braking alert, see every defect through to a repair, and catch every license, medical card and permit before it runs out. For a company with 50 trucks, that comes to about 342 hours a month by our estimate. Usually it lands on a safety director who is already stretched across OSHA, training and every job site.
This briefing shows you what DOT expects, in one morning, so you can see where your company stands.

The morning
Ontaria Read, Founder of Prime Fleet Management
Ontaria built Prime Fleet Management because she’d been there: doing DOT on top of everything else, after the real work was done. Today PFM is a DOT compliance department for companies that run trucks, with a Compliance Manager, an Hours of Service Specialist, a Safety Specialist and a Compliance Admin working beside your safety team every day.

It’s free. You’ll get a confirmation email right away, a reminder the week before, and a note the day before with parking directions.
We’ll record the 30-minute talk so people who can’t make it can watch later. The questions afterward are not recorded.
